T-cells engineered with antibody-like recognition domains, better known as CAR-Ts,
represent a promising treatment modality for cancer. Approval from the US Food and Drug
Administration for two CD19-directed CAR-T therapies has invigorated research in this area.
CD19 expression is restricted to normal B cells and B-cell leukemias, and is critical for
