The classi5cation of chronic hepatitis proposed ir. 1968 (1) his been used with little
modification for over 20 years. Chronic persistent hepatitis (CPH), chronic active hepatitis
(CAH) and chronic lobular hepatitis (CLH)(2) are histological patterns associated with a
